Mathematics

• Math@Home (from quantiles.com)
• click “Get Started”
• choose Oklahoma and the grade level of the child. If you know their quantile score they can input it but if they don’t know it or the student does not take the SMI, use the buttons in the section for “I don’t know my child’s quantile measure” and click “Next”
• Optional: enter the textbook the child uses. Click “Next”
• This reveals a wealth of resources from book/print materials to mini-lessons, websites, and videos.
• ThinkThroughMath.com - If a student’s school is participating, they can continue this practice in the evenings, on the weekends and during extended breaks. I’d suggest teachers send home the student’s login with them over the break, just in case!
• Khan Academy - As seen on TV!
• Sonoma County Office of Education published Math at Home (English) / Math at Home (Spanish). The entire read is useful for parents, but pages 6 - 7 offer very simple, easy ways to incorporate math activities at home.

English/language arts

• iRead (for students in K-2) - allows students to continue their work on phonics skills just as if they were in school. Students log in with their student ID for username and password.
• Free Rice - is a great way for secondary students to improve their vocabulary. The site uses a fun quiz format. For every answer the student gets correct, ten grains of rice are donated to the United Nations World Food Program.
• Brytewave -offers TPS families access to grade level appropriate eBooks. Thousands of popular titles to choose from.
• Reading Games by MAP RIT Score allows students to play online games directly related to instructional needs. K-3

Social Studies

• iCivics: iCivics is a suite of 17 engaging games that place students in different civic roles and give them the opportunity to address real-world problems and issues. Students can earn points as they progress through a game, which vary in length from 5-35 minutes. Appropriate for upper elementary through high school.
• Seriously Amazing at the Smithsonian - The Smithsonian is all about questions and answers, and the Smithsonian Seriously Amazing website brings those questions to life. It asks and answers questions about science, art, history and culture, exciting the learning in everyone, every day.
• Brain Pop - BrainPOP engages students through animated movies, learning games, interactive quizzes, primary source activities, concept mapping, and more. They cover topics within science, math, social studies, English language arts, technology, engineering, arts, music, health, reading, and writing. Many of the activities and levels are free.

Fine Arts

• Museum of Modern Art: On this Art Safari, you will explore animals and art!

• Things to do at Gilcrease Museum:
• Our Kids Site is open now. The theme is Animal Influence, featuring Oklahoma animals. There are so many activities in the room - paddling down a river scene, a scent and sound station, a coloring table, a book nook with bean bags, a puppet theater, computer games, wire sculptures, and even more!
• Visit the Creative Learning Center to make art from a variety of art supplies.
• Kravis Discovery Center – rows and rows of drawers of anthropological pieces to investigate and explore – points, bows, arrows, pottery, pipes, mammoth teeth, jade ear spools and so much more.
